Michael J. Poss, MD

   Pain Management Provider

Medical School:  Wake Forest University Baptist School of Medicine 
Residency:  Wake Forest University Baptist School of Medicine 
Board Certified:  Yes

Dr. Poss received his medical degree and completed his residency training in anesthesiology at the Wake Forest University Baptist School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. After receiving his degree, Dr. Poss served as an intern and a medical officer with the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps, eventually earning the rank of Commander, Medical Corps of the U.S. Navy Reserve.

A certified Fellow of Interventional Pain Practice, Dr. Poss also holds board certifications from the American Board of Anesthesiology and the American Board of Interventional Pain Physicians. He joined Virginia Brain and Spine Center in 2005.

In addition to practicing interventional pain management at Virginia Brain and Spine Center, Dr. Poss provides regenerative medicine therapy through his clinic, Virginia Regenerative Medicine (located within the same building). 


N. Scott Ashcraft, DO

Medical School: West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine 
Residency: University of Kentucky
Board Certified: Yes

Dr. Ashcraft received his pharmacy degree from West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and he received his medical degree from West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine.  He completed his anesthesiology residency and his Interventional Pain Fellowship at the University of Kentucky.  Dr. Ashcraft was a pharmacist for four years before going to medical school.

As a Diplomat of the American Board of Anesthesia, Dr. Ashcraft also holds board certifications in Anesthesiology and Interventional Pain Management from the American Board of Anesthesia.  He is a member of the International Spine Intervention Society.

Dr. Ashcraft has nearly 20 years experience in interventional pain management.  He had spent the last few years at Womack Army Medical Center in Fort Bragg, North Carolina treating Wounded Warriors, Special Forces, 82nd Airborne, and dependents.  Dr. Ashcraft joined the practice in 2012.


Christy A. Andrews, NP-C

  Pain Management Provider  

      Christy graduated with a Bachelor's in Nursing from Eastern Mennonite University and a Master's in Nursing from James Madison University in 2007. She has a strong

        background in orthopedics. Christy joined the practice in 2015.


Sharara Kazimi, NP-C

  Pain Management Provider 

 Sharara graduated with a Bachelor's in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University, and a Master's in Nursing from Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing.   Sharara joined the practice in 2018.
